Driver for Food Co-Op - Casual Short Term Basis

The Sutherland Shire Community Co-Operative (SSCC) is a collaborative project created by One Meal, Orana, Salvation Army (Miranda) and Hopefield.

SSCC is seeking to appoint a driver on a causal basis. The role may only be required for a short term (approximately 6 months).

The purpose of the project is to be able to offer residents of the Sutherland Shire access to food relief, in response to the COVID-19 crisis, by providing registered charities (and other non-profit organisations) with a supply of food for distribution to their clients. 

The driver will be required to collect food from Sydney Food Markets one day per week with an early morning start - approximately 5am.


  • Current drivers license
  • The ability to drive manual or automatic
  • Confidence to drive a van (sometimes long wheelbase)
  • The ability to lift heavy boxes of fruit and veggies onto trolleys & pallet jacks (heavy loads sometimes) into and out of van, and around co-op
  • A pleasant disposition and ability to approach total strangers and ask for donations
  • Commitment to build a good rapport and relationship with the different stallholders
  • Able to start work early on Friday mornings at 5am..
  • Able to show initiative whilst collecting and sourcing fruit and veggies
  • Be physically fit

Psychologist – Part Time/Flexible Hours

Are you looking for a position where you will be able to make a difference? You’ll work with a supportive and innovative team of professionals who provide a unique service to the local community.

We are a looking for an experienced psychologist or social worker to work with us on a part time basis. The successful person will have strong communication skills and the ability to engage with others. We are looking for someone who is professional and well organised.

Professional qualifications required. 

Minimum 5 years or 2000 hours face to face experience required.

Membership of a nationally recognised relevant association is required.

Hopefield is a ministry of Gymea Baptist Church.
